So he was leaving the country and there was no security, how odd!! Usually there's no security when getting in.

A spokeswoman told the Daily Mirror: "It would have been a very long and dangerous journey as trains would have been passing him regularly."

State the obvious! He is either bloody brave or stupid. Perhaps he took the third service route.

I recall a programme about the tunnel when it 1st opened after the worries about Rabies.
We were told that it had electic shock grids to stop mice rats and foxes etc getting past.
Then they said a fox had got though but it was clean.
Oh thats all right then

Love this from the report

Eurotunnel said Dyer took advantage of a "brief malfunction of the systems of surveillance".

i.e. the guy monitoring the cameras was one of the following:

a. Asleep
b. Taking a leak
c. Watching X-Factor

Thats exactly what I thought, its very obviously a story put out to allay fears about poor security.

I wonder, would anyone have even felt anything if the train had hit him?

Well, yeah. The article said he was charged with "endangering life". Whose? I don't think "his own" counts.

Anyway, good on him. I'd like to do the same thing myself, just for the crack.

I wonder if they'd let us extend the London Tunnel Run to take in the Channel Tunnel as well ??

Just shows how bad this country is getting, even the illegals are trying to get out

Not to worry - by now he will be in "our system" so he won't have to worry about his future anymore.

article said:
Eurotunnel bosses are stunned that Dyer was not killed by the winds rushing through the tunnel as trains tear along, creating a vacuum effect that should, in theory, suck up and kill any pedestrian near their path.

They almost sound disappointed at the lack of suck on the trains...

Bloody heck, we read this and just couldnt stop laughing... I mean, how the hell did he manage to walk all that way without getting pulled into the vacuum like the article says????

Me thinks a 'Unbreakable' scenario is upon us

Scary thought is, it really shows that our security is still lacking... I mean, I'm sure the channel tunnel would be a PRIME target for brain-washed terrorists... bloody frightening stuff if you look at it from that angle

Isn't there a central access tunnel that he could have walked through?
