Thats the only compensation though. I much prefer lighter evenings.

Anyway, not to worry, only about 10 weeks to go before the pendulum swings and it begins to get lighter again.

And why is there always ONE clock that you miss changing on the appointed weekend, say in a car nobody drove that day or a watch you don't wear that often, which gives you a heart attack some days later as you think you are an hour late.

Yes I too look forward to it because I get out of my scratcher an hour early (body clock knows naff all about BST>GMT) and get a shed load of stuff done. Look it is still only 10am!

Mind you guts think throat is cut come 11:30 and lunch still an hour away.

That used to be allot more fun with Clarke.

Brown just waffles on and hides any tax rises in the notes, released later.

Spookily, though ever so slightly off-topic, I woke up this morning, rolled over and picked up my watch. Just as I remembered the battery was flat and it had stopped several days ago at 11.17.
So I picked up my phone and peered at the time... it was 11.18

Look, I had a late night and several rums, OK?

Me too. Far from looking forward to it a month in advance, I dread it. Just when it's getting darker anyway, some has to around with the clocks and make it worse.

Only the clocks don't change back again until April or something ridiculous.

It was originally a temporary wartime measure... well the war's been over for nearly 90 years so stop arsing around with the clocks!

Just dont move them the wrong way. Turning up for work two hours early, bleary eyed while silently cursing the clocks for making you lose an hours sleep can really ruin your day. Allegedly anyway
