RANT TIME.
The locals have spent the weekend planting bulbs in the local lanes and planting climbing plants to cover up the sewage works gates and a local railway viaduct. This morning I went for a walk with the dogs up to the local church. As it it unlit and a dead end it is the usual spot for local couples to'cannooooodle'.
This morning the entrance to the church was awash with beer cans, empty packets of weed, mcDonalds cartons, a large pool of vomit over the style onto the footpatch and the signs of people having urinated up the church wall.
Even more annoying because 2 weeks ago the council installed a litter bin at the end of the drive because of these problems. Every day the locals pick up the mess (condoms, bits of car, fast food, cardboard boxes, burned bottles etc).
I have spoken with various groups who always deny they did it and the local police couldn't give a stuff.
What is wrong with people that they have so little regard for keeping the place pleasant, that they cam't be bothered to slow down the car and pop the rubbish in the bin.
Final solution: the farmer who owns the lane has given us permission to block it off, meaning people visit the churchyard will have to walk up. I guess the problem will just move to the next village.

Almost as bad as those you see in shopping carparks who open the car door, and dump the contents of their ashtray on the deck.
Or those who throw fag ends out of moving cars, usually into the face of some unsuspecting motorcyclist.
Coke cans! put a 50p deposit on them, that may work. As a kid I recall a deposit on lemonade bottles, you never saw them hanging around.

Where we live......in the middle of nowhere so people say........why do people roll up in their cars, leave cider bottles, macdonalds cartons, pizza boxes, condoms and very suspisious looking bits of tissue lying around......but yet we don't get visitors cos they say its too far out to call unannounced in case your not in..........police don't want to know about it cos its out of the town and not under their noses so they don't have to do anything. We also get joyriders, and burnt out cars...which get taken away eventually.
Dog loves all the boxes and things, intereesting smells and all, I spend half my time gipping and pulling him away...
