E-bay account hacked into....
Discussion
OK,
Yesterday, I was dismayed to find my E-bay account had been hacked into and some cheeky :censored: had listed a couple of expensive mobile phones on it on a one day sale, incuring me listing fees of £10.64...:shoot:
Luckily, I contacted E-bay very quickly and they removed the two rogue listings and credited me the listing charges..
So, my question is, how do these hackers manage to do this? I had not compromised security by revealing my password to anyone, still I suppose if the Enigma code can be broken....:scratchchin:
Obviously, I have now changed my password......:nerd:

Did you get an emails from 'Ebay security' recently?
Ive been getting quite afew amails which look pretty good and as though they're actually from Ebay asking me to confirm details eg passwords?
Other than that if you have recieved any files from other sellers eg pictures of items. these can contain 'trojans' which I understand enables the person to get all this kind of information from your computer?

Yep... pertty much your only sure-fire way of stopping it is to wear an earthed tin-foil hat whenever you go on eBay. You'll probably find them on eBay if you want to buy one - of course you're then in a Catch 22 situation as you need to be wearing one before you buy one! Scary world we live in, I tell you.
Download their security software and ONLY login via www.ebay.co.uk do not ever use a link via email even from stuff you have purchased/sold as some rouges buy a small item and use their own link to grab your details.
Paypal is more dangerous and I wonder if anyone has ever had their bank emptied?
