any recommendations planning on spending up to £50 prefer full ear covering ones of good quality. they will be used for all sorts, mp3 playing on train and in office blocking out people argueing here in the office and other general noise.

but a lot of it will be peoples voices, dont want in ear ones for the hassle of putting them in and out through the day.

I swear by sennheiser (sp?) - don't know the latest models though - last pair I bought was 7 years ago and they're still doing the job fine!

HD25SPs per chance?

I've still got mine and they still sound amazing.

If you were to spend in excess of £100, I would recomend Bayer DT 100's

Try headphoneworld.co.uk. I got my sennheisers from there. You'll probably need closed-back or noise cancelling ones.

I've used these for a few years now:

http://audiovisual.kelkoo.co.uk/b/a/ps_7114910/120901.html

They're clip ons but without anything that protrudes into the ear. Very comfy, decent sound and cheapidy cheap. Small enough to keep in a pocket as well, unlike proper earphones

Just going to recommend the same ones. Excellent budget phones which are closed backs so don't annoy anyone else. Have some much more expensive senns at home which are obviously better but not by the amount they cost.

Mark

PS. Use them all day long at the office and have done for a year and a half.

Not sure you can pick them up for £50 but if you can, waste no time in snapping up a pair of Senheisser HD25 (not the special editions)
Nothing will come close to these headphones!
