I've come up against a question that I cannot answer and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.

The question is.

Outside of Antartica, are there any areas of land not currently owned (ie. by private individuals, corporations, charities or the state)? I'm particularly interested in the UK and the US, though am also interested in a more global context.

Sorry it's a bit heavy

(Oh and I blame the gremlins for originally posting this in the wrong bit of the board :wobble: )

I don't thonk so. If any land is not owned by an individual sovereign state, it will be under some sort of international protection agreement - like Antartica.
