Still hearing about Iraq. Iran next target?
Could this happen to the UK? Would we all come together to quell the attacking foe? What would happen if it did? Do you think anyone would dare invade and would anyone come to our rescue?

I've revised my estimates - ca. 100 years will see the white indigenous population in the minority.

It's a major (financial) attacking force.

Seriously, I don't think it would happen in todays day and age like you're imagining.

I think we're fairly safe for now.

Maybe in years to come, when the Chinese have had enough and decide its time they wore the trousers, the planet will change and current stable countries might get a bit more unstable than they ever have been.

If it happens to us, I think it would be part of a more global size thing.

Using my crystal ball...no.

Well, as far as one can currently see into the future anyway; probably the next 30-50 years, and who knows what the global/European situation will be after that? We could be living in Utopia with limitless power from fusion reactors and having everything built by nanobots and consequently world peace reigns, or maybe the oil has run out, there's nothing to replace it and global warming has wreaked havoc and its non-stop fighting (or as much as you can do with no oil!) all around the world.
As for resistance? Forget it. If a foreign military power was well equipped enough to do it, the woefully inadequate spending our military has been suffering from would be exposed in the worst possible way...and what are unarmed civilians going to be able to do?

Well you're forgetting it would be quite easy to blow up the channel tunnel and then it would be very hard for anyone to actually invade us.

Invading the UK?

Very easy, no need for an invading army to get together landing craft or expensive troop carrying planes. They can hop on the Eurostar direct from Paris and be here in 45mins. They'd probably be given help loading up supplies at the station too. When they got to customs in the UK they'd declare asylum and be waved on to London.

Mobilising sufficient floaty things would be a near impossible feat. For D-Day it took the combined efforts of the worlds two largest sea powers to assemble enough landing craft and to do that they had to ship them in from all around the world.

but who actually has a fleet that could mount a serious landing force, we may have cut back our Navy, but other countries have cut back on theirs too.

Plus we have an awful lot of missles to chuck at people if we really had too.

Against a massively well defended coastline manned by an incredibly well equipped military. Sea (and air) is the only way the UK could be invaded; invading through the tunnel is a complete non-starter. Not saying it would be easy to do, just saying its the only way.

I doubt it, I doubt whether Hitler would have been able to pull it off even with the RAf knocked out. He would have had to have spent a year or so pulverising the entire country and it's defences to make it feasible, it's not easy getting a landing force across the ocean, aircraft can't carry enough people, large ships need somewhere to dock and landing craft need good calm weather and a beachhead. All difficult enough without people shooting at you.

Anyway why would anyone want to invade the UK? And who is capable, The US? your already in their pocket. Western European countries are unlikely and anyone else will need to get through Europe first.

The only way to really invade would be through illegal/legal immigration, slowly build up lots of 'sleeper' units in the country until eventually you have a majority share in the countries. Perhaps the original British will be driven out and someone else will move in. I guess that's the only way it could happen, and even then it would take years and rely on the 'invasion' force not becoming corrupted by the locals.
