PH'ers and their other halves
Discussion
Can't say I've ever stopped my other half from doing anything, hence where he is now, fullfilling a boyhood dream of running around with guns.
Therefore I have spent half of my married life on my own. Stopping people doing something they really want to do just breeds resentment, and it never goes away.
He's never stopped me from doing things........mind you he's rarely here to see

How much is your life ruled by what your other half says you can and can't do?
Say you like doing something but your other half disagrees, would you stop? (No OXO jokes here please)
my recent ex always banged on at me about drinking less, stopping smoking, and moving down to oxford to be closer to her. 1 acheived, 2 nope, i will give up for me, and 3 beyond my power.
so we split up. bugger, guess there has to be a BIT of give and take.

Pretty much like the same things. We both like cars, driving, watching, working on, etc. We enjoy the same movies, music, drink; we share the same friends. Life's pretty easy going for me and 'Stardust'. The only problem is that she often likes to borrow my TVR.
Yu sure that she is actually a woman?

<sniff>
I'm not allowed a motorbike... or a TVR... (meep!)
All because of the very remote chance that I'll kill myself... But for some strange reason a "premium brand" car (Audi, BMW, Volvo etc) with 240+bhp would be okay...

Oh well... when I move to a house with a garage I think there is quite a high chance a TVR may suddenly appear one day...

We never stop each other doing anything.
Susie and I have been married for over a decade and it seems to work pretty well.
She raises no objections when I feel the need to buy a daft car, indeed she seems to enjoy the fact that it makes me happy.
She approved of the Esprit, then the Griffith and has now given the green light for a couple of Minis and an old Ferrari.
She growls occasionally when I drink too much plonk and would like me to be a stone less heavy, but on the whole I get off pretty lightly compared to many I know.
