It's the g/f's (lurks around here by the name of ZimFish) birthday on Wednesday, and she fancied seeing a show in London this weekend.

So took her out shopping for the day on Saturday, lunch at Kensington Roof Garden, more shopping (including a very nice BTaP outfit!), then to the Dorchester for a massage for her, off to see the Woman in White, back to the Dorchester for a late dinner, then a good nights sleep with a room service breakfast in the morning.

Oh, and I popped the question before we went out that evening, and she said yes!

Now to plan a South African wedding in 2 years time!

It involved her slipping her finger into my ring...

Steady on Old Chap, it's a bit early in the day for that sort of talk.

Anyway congratulations on your news.

...and more seriously:

Why South Africa?

(Me and Mrs Beano, who isn't "technically" Mrs Beano yet, but is willing to be, haven't agreed on WHERE to get married yet.....)

The future Mrs Jimothy was born in Zimbabwe, grew up in South Africa till she was 11, then back to Zim before moving here three and a half eyars ago. So South Africa's more home for her than England (and it means her friends and family over there who she rarely sees can be there, good for the ones that wouldn't be able to travel to the UK for a wedding). And it does mean something like an outdoor wedding in a Vinyard or on a beach...

We'll probably have a small thing here as well.

Well done Sir

The only thing that worries me is that it took:

Shopping for the day
Lunch at Kensington Roof Garden
More shopping (including a very nice BTaP outfit!)
Dorchester for a massage
See the Woman in White
Dorchester for a late dinner
Room service breakfast

- to do the deed... have you worked out how much it's going to cost to do that every day for two years...?
