Imagine the situation. Years ago, while single, you meet a girl (actually sister of one of my best friends). You take a shine to each other (in a big way) to the point of her thinking about not emigrating, so that she can be with you. No joy though, and off she moves to Australia. 2.5 years later, she is returning – with fiancé in tow; chap she met out there. He’s a nice guy, they seem happy. You all go out clubbing together on Saturday night. You pull a great looking girl and take her home.

The next day, you meet up with best friend, his sister, her fiancé, and other friends for an evening beer or three.

She is not talking to you. The girl left, met someone else, brought him back for the wedding, and gets upset when you pull someone else. It’s just not fair! It’s as if she wants to have her cake and eat it (i.e. get married, but me to pay her undiluted attention when around her).

I have neglected to mention that the other girl I pulled was a good friend of hers. I still do not think that this was any reason for old Flashy to get the treatment, though. We’re all consenting adults etc etc.

Once more, I lurch into mires of complex messiness, through an inability to choose the correct course of action. Damn it.

Is the girl you pulled going to be a bridesmaid at the wedding? If so you have merely completed your duty as a single bloke at a wedding in advance of the occasion.

You've done nothing wrong - I've been in the have cake and eat it thing before, and if you give them an inch on it they'll take the whole nine yards

She chose to leave, she's chosing to marry this other fella, and if she expects you to be at her every beck and call I'd put her straight from the start.

Or maybe she just remembers what you're like and is worried for her friend

you did doubly well to pull her if she was made of honour. that stuff is almost impenetrable.

Hell yes - she can't revoke that now! I'm one of the ushers (Her bro, me and some friends are standing in as none of the groom's lot are over from Oz).

ETA - to cotty. Not the Norfolk chap.

You're having a laugh, surely? According to this thread, there are plenty of PH men who should be 'in touch' with femininity:

Maybe she's not sulking like a child.

Sulking like a big gurl, nae doot

Women, eh. Can't live with them - can't drown them in the bath (not after that test case).

She's 25. And absolutely lovely. This is not the sort of reaction I was expecting.

Pah - now I'm going to go for the rest of the bridesmaids on principle.
