Imagine the situation.......

You're about to step into your expensive sportscar outside your flat in a nice area of the city when you see a taxi trying to go the wrong way down what has now only recently been changed into a one way street. You shout ''oi! What the hell are you doing, this is a one way street! Do you not know what these blo*dy signs mean????''. The taxi driver schreeches to a halt and says ''calm down ya baldy 4-eyed Bast*rd'' He then tries to attempts to do a u-ey with all wheels spinning smoke. You've just absorbed the personal insults and steam is coming out your ears so as he almost swerves at you and then past like madman, you kick out at the rear door.....Bullseye!!......HUUUUUUUGE dent! He thunders off down the road and you're left thinking ''sh1t!! why did I do that?? That's a criminal offence!!'' Your wife is in tears and you realise that there is now a great chance that you'll walk down to your lovely Porsche one morning and it'll be f*cked over. You also realise that your personal safety may now also be in danger should he be what you imagine many taxi drivers to be.........

Do you?....
1/Call the police and explain what happened
2/Try to track him down (didn't get the reg.) and pay for the damage
3/Calm down and wait to see if the door buzzer rings with the police wanting a 'discussion'

You can imagine that you might be feeling sick and very stupid at the moment. No?

Any thoughts folks??

Why get so worked up about the fellow going the wrong way down the street? As you said, its only recently been changed..perhaps he didn't know. Seems like a tad over reactive.

my reply would be based very much on whether the guy saw that the car was mine, i.e i was getting into it, or opening the boot or something..

It was also be based on whether or not he saw where I lived..

Might be a bit much to boot his car, but you did what you thought was best and if someone was driving at me in such a manner, then I might have given his motor a boot too..

In any case, sod paying for the dent..just have a good think if he could tell which car was yours or where you lived?

Ignore it, he knew he wasin the wrong in the first place by going down a one-way street.

Wait and see if the police contact you, I can't imagine they will. They have more important things like catching speeding motorists to do.

If you find your pride and joy damaged, well, you're more than likely to know who's to blame, you just need to keep an eye out for his cab again.

Chances are he probably thought he hit you when he heard the thud, did he see you kick out?i would let things calm down.
Like was said probably a tad over reactive considering it had just been changed.
Anyway what are taxi drivers like

gotta post something and a lot better than a simple,

hello im a new person been a stalker for some time, but thought i would say hello now.

i think most people have already answered all that is needed on this thread, does he know which is your car, if so? can you park it else where for a while, if he doesnt, will he recognise you again?

sit quiet relax a little and then think about all who saw what actually happened, get it straight in your head what happened then if anyone does knock on the door you can remember what happened and will be your word against his, dd you actually kick the dent into his door or had he put the dent in there already in his clumsy attempt to turn round in a one way street?

A bit of an over reaction me tinks!!!

If it was an old knacker of a Taxi, I would chance my luck that your new dent will be un-noticed hundled with the other dents.

But I wouldn't be leaving my car outside for a week or two

Don't call the cops and if they press the buzzer deny kicking the car, but you did tell him off and he called you names.

prey that you don't end up 'in the back of his cab'

ere...youll never guess whose dismembered torso i 'ad in the boot of my cab the uvver night..

relax. nothing will happen. if it was going to, it would have happened at the time. why would he call you a speccy tt for pointing out the highway code, but bide his time for up his livelihood? its done, so forget it.

that said, you might wanna consider some form of relaxation/ less coffee old chum

1) Don't bother, they won't care as he wasn't speeding.
2) Waste of time
3) How will they know where you live, did you shout it out at the driver as it drove away or did you throw him a business card?

Get some anger management, that was a way over the top reaction to a simple mistake.

He definitely knows the Porsche is owned by the 'denter' as the bonnet/boot was open. The 'denter' is feeling very very stupid but also angry at the senseless insult (albeit it was true) The 'denter' IS Baldy.

Learn from your mistake and bear in mind that people do make mistakes and/or deliberately drive down one way streets. It is not worth causing criminal damage, starting a fight or losing your temper over it.
