Is it just me, or is the latest Blunkett 'scandal' a complete non-story propagated by the media during a slow news week?.

No.

It's another example of Blunkett's arrogance, believing himself to be above reproach and bullet proof.

His days are numbered.

Absolutely, but if it makes the arrogant 2@ sweat for a bit, then I'm all for it.

No but what you are saying is exactly what Labours spin machine is saying. Which surprises me.

On May 6, when I was appointed Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, I resigned as a non-executive director in DNA Bioscience, and announced this in the Departmental press notice on that day.

I also notified my Permanent Secretary on appointment in writing of both my short time with DNA Bioscience and the shares I had purchased and then put into trust for my three eldest sons.

Additionally, I also notified the Registrar of Members' Interests of both my time with DNA Bioscience and the trust.

As previously stated, DNA Bioscience does not have any contracts with my Department or the Child Support Agency.

I have not made any representations to any Government department or agency on behalf of DNA Bioscience since returning to Government, nor have I provided any advice to the company.

As long as this statement is true, his purchase of the shares looks unwise rather than corrupt.

Or maybe, since he has been forced to resign before, he looks easy prey.

I love your comments

The blokes is waste of space, really frustrates me that him, mandy pandy and others who make gross mistakes a few months later sneak back into very senior positions.

The differences being that labour hide the sleaze (curious timing on the public transport drink ban being leaked) and the tories hung their team out on public display
