Right,we have the uber tracksuit,the hood/baseball cap,the chains,and burberry.

When someone dresses like this, they know they are dressing like a ' chav ' , so do some people 'aspire' to be chavs ?,as in its cool to be a chav ?,or would they be offended by getting called one ? .. I'm lost .

Only cool to other chavs! Not something to aspire to unless you like abuse and the back seat of police cars

We dont get chav's here, never seen one yet........we tend to call the equivelent 'scratters'.

I suppose the only difference really is they don't wear burberry, or alot of baseball caps either. But you can spot them a mile off.

Chavs are more defined by attitude than dresscode. I knew someone who wore surfer gear but was wall to wall chav underneath...

Switch channel5 on now - you'll learn lots

Currently on Trisha is the scouse teenage mother wearing a grey tracksuit who drinks a bottle of vodka per day and drives (hopefully not after said vodka) despite not being allowed a driving license because she has seizures!

It would appear to me than if someone calls someone else a chav then all they are saying is that that they think they are better than them.

Timeless snobbery with new terms.

HTH.

True - I don't have a problem with this. I like to think I'm better than some yobbo who spends all day leaning against the window of McDonalds, spitting, insulting passers-by and stealing things.

Not much better admittedly, though I lean against the window of Help the Aged
