Already sought!

For those too young to know it, it`s an instrumental utilising an old out of tune pub piano, a snare drum and a flute - and a gravel voice "singing" the words "Moudly old dough"

And it reached No.1 in the charts in 1972 - beating the likes of David Bowie, T-Rex and Roxy Music.

The charts were very eclectic in those days. Not only did the big "pop" acts of the day sell loads of records, but loads of one-off oddball songs and tunes made it into the top 10 and often made No.1. Apart from "Mouldy Old Dough" you had non-pop tunes such as "Galloping Home" (the theme from the TV series "Black Beauty", "Eye Level" (the theme from "Van Der Valk", the pipe band version of "Amazing Grace" etc etc.

That was my favourite tune when I was about 3 or 4. I wouldn't go to sleep until I'd heard it - every night. It eventually broke, and I was inconsolable.

Also don't forget... the Floral Dance! Shocker.

Anyone got Devil Woman by Ringo Starr? Awesome.

replace it with:

"We are the cheeky girls, we are the cheeky girls, you are the cheeky boys, you are the cheeky boys"

and keep repeating it.

Leutenant Pigeon were notable for being, I believe, the only band in history to reach number one in the charts with the lead singers Mum on piano.

Spooky!!! - I had the same (Lt. Pigeon) song going through my head all last night! At least I knew the reason - I was busy doing some work (Reading PH!) and fired up some mp3's, clicked onto the wrong playlist and that was the 1st song to come on (and even more embarassing, I actually left it playing!)

I thought this thread was going to be you singing the blues.

I woke up this morning,

With a song in my head
dur dur de dum
Can't stop singing it

I'm going back to bed
