Sorry, but it really just isn't cricket. Has the Ashes win gone to the guy's head?

Its a storm in a teacup. Not a big deal. if it contravenes the rules, it will not be allowed.

There's no if about it though - why's he even trying it on for heaven's sake?

Would the same rule stop someone moving from square leg to short square leg?How much is too much movement?

All that will happen is the Umpire will say "Oi, Vaughny..Noooooo" and that will be the end. The media like to make more of it than it actually is.

Significant movement would be a change in fielding position such as this. Let's face it, movement is a part of fielding as we are taught to "walk in " from the very beginning of our cricketing lives (I get sick of telling the Under 11's I coach about it as they seem to forget on a regular basis!)

I would say that this is something not in the spirit of the game as I like to play it, as is sledging and the overuse of the 12th man, and it is time something is done before the next generation of cricketers turn into to55pot prima donnas like our footballers are.

Incidentally the presence of some of these factors has led to me deciding to hang up my bat at the rather premature age of 30. It is a cancer spreading through a great game and it needs to be stopped. Vaughan should be setting an example and playing everything by the book-look what happened to Atherton with the dirty pocket incident!
