According to the BBC's Weather Web-Site it's raining hard right this second outside my house. Well it isn't. In fact the weather is quit pleasant. It's one thing to get tomorrow's weather wrong, but you have to be really bad to get nows weather so wrong.

So what? I hear you thinking. Well I was going to Santa Pod today to watch the dragster racing and fireworks. However, after reading the BBC's weather forecast last night, much to my kids' disappointment, I decided that standing in the rain watching them try and dry the strip for hours on end seemed a little dull. So I called it off. What an idiot I was - believing the BBC's weather.

It's not the first time either - it seemed to be VERY regular. They seldom say it's going to be sunny and then it rains, they usually say it's going to be rainy but it doesn't rain.

I used to work at the local brach of the nation bureau of meterology back in Australia and they had a website which listed almost all their weather stations and rain radar which could be accessed in real time, mainly for pilots and seafaring types but it was available to anyone

surely there is an english equivalent? I'd like to know since the BBC one always gets it wrong for me as well.

www.metoffice.com/weather/europe/uk/radar/ Shows real time radar and animation.

By the way, why have the press and other media been hyping up the likelihood of a very bad winter when the Met Office says only that it could, statistically, be a bit worse than recent years?

Hmm!! Just had a look at Cambridgeshire for tomorrow - all OK except for 9-12 am, says it'll be -66 deg c and light snow.

Yeah, not too good around my way either. A rainy but warm night and then -133 degrees C at 0900. Better stick the heating on!

Amazing how an apostrophe can have such an effect on the meaning of a sentence.

Well we got back from our Autumn jaunt in the sun last week. Only problem is, we were in The Bahamas and got our backsides well and truly kicked by Hurricane Wilma! So, we're sitting here tonight surrounded by holiday brochures.

I don't listen to this bs about the upcoming bad winter.

Any other time the Met' boys are telling us that they can't predict beyond 5 days ahead with any sort of certainty.

I wouldn't mind betting it was the warmest October on record though.
