What good do they do you? I religiously have a session after doing my grunting in the gym, but just end up looking like the Red Lobster ad. I don't get slimmer, better looking or a better lover. What good are they suposed to do you?????

Good for the pores, maybe?

Gym --> Home --> Eat --> Shower

And leaving the rest of the day free is what it's all about.

Steam rooms and sauna's clean the skin by sweating out the rubbish from your pores. After a few sessions you should have fewer spots and healthier skin. They also help to relax muscles which can help reduce stress. If used after excercise think of it as an additional "warm down" session.

They are unlikely to help you lose wieght as they remove water from the body, which you replenish by drinking.

When I used to go to the gym, I kept being invited by men to join them in the steam room!

I don't think there's much merit to it. However, I do enjoy the feeling of having a cold-ish shower after a sauna.
