we had to put 12 aircraft up for the battle of britain celebration (50 years), and had to prep 20 aicraft just to make sure we got 12 up in one go!
it was routine on our unit to prep double the number needed for a sortie, and once they had gone you had to go rushing round changing the fuel/weapons ready for the next sortie!

Nice to see Tornado servicability has not changed since my time on the GR4s.

well that was back in 1991, they weren't GR.4'S in those days!
i would have liked to have thought they were a little more reliable these days!

its all about knowing which breakers to reset, or which black box to re-seat, or smack.

i was at honington'87-'91, although we had a spell at marham whilst they were doing our runway.

I'm mid-CPL training and had a session saturday morning. The flight passed beneath me enroute from Sothwold to Fairlop Waters. Looked superb.. but brings home that you really do need to check the NOTAMs. You wouldnt want to run into those chaps without a warning..
