Register office PC gay move
Discussion
I read in the Daily Mail today that a register office in Liverpool removed traditional portraits of a bride and groom for fear of offending homosexual couples.
They spent £3500 replacing the portraits with pictures of lanscapes.
The change in decor was made to ensure that same sex couples feel comfortable when they get "married".
Apparently the landscape portraits are "neutral" , but pictures of newlyweds signing the register and another showing Romeo anf Juliet kissing on a swing might upset gays taking their vows.
The government has spent around £30000 on raising awareness of the Civil Partnership Act which becomes law in December which allows gay and lesbian couples to marry.
Now my question is , who decided that gays are "offended" by a perfectly good painting ? and who decided that it's worth wasting £3500 on this PC exercise? and what about the feelings of heterosexual couples? has anyone consulted them? or are they becoming an endangered species?
They even renamed the "wedding Room" >>> "the ceremony room".
Is it me or is the traditional concept of marriage and family being assassinated by a bunch of out of touch time and money wasters?
I bet you if you asked the average homosexual(non militant of course) about this move by the register office , they'd find it stupid and laughable.

Not intentional , Jaglover, I did not know you started a thread on this very topic.
