Hello guys and girls,

I'm going to order an iPod Nano for my girlfriend this Christmas but I'd like to know how long it takes to order them. When I ordered my original iPod 3 years ago, it took 4 months to arrive!!!

I'd also like to have it engraved so it warns of a 1 week delay but does anyone have any experience to prove this!?

Finally, after all these allegations regarding the quality of the resin, does it really scratch badly? I've read very mixed reviews but i'd like to hear first hand from somebody rather than a bunch of baised Windows and Apple geeks!!!

Cheers!

yup, mines covered with scratches and the battery life is rubbish... im waiting for it to go wrong so I can get a new one on warranty, because otherwise its a very good bit of kit.

Does scratch stupidly easily though.

That's a bit pants....what size version have you got? I'm just wondering whether or not the €50 extra is worth it to double the memory to 4GB? The 2GB version is €209.

Did you get yours from Apple online or from a shop? If so, how long did it take? (Sorry for all the questions! lol)

According to the tracking system, engraving on my mini was done in Shanghai - 1 day to do, 4 days to ship to the UK. I expect that's the same whether you order in an Apple store or online

I ordered one for Joanne on the 31st oct and it arrived last Wednesday. That included the engraving, straight from Apple Store.
They are fragile, partly because the resin and plastic is thinner than the other iPods. However, they continue to work despite the cosmetic damage even after drops and knocks.
I ordered a cool case
to go with it that hasn't arrived yet, and an Apple armband from Amazon. That was here within days.

If you want a proper case for it, and by that I mean 'utterly beautifully well made case that noone else will ever have', then goto www.vajacases.com

I got one a few years back for my Ipaq, and I also had a wallet from them. Superbly made, and very individual. Take about 10 days to arrive.

Ooooh.....pink case would go down a treat. Might take the gf's mind off buying pink sheets for my bed for now....

I need to ask, what is it with pink and girls!?!?!

Decided to go for the 2GB model with one of the pink wallet cases. The Vaja ones are nice too but they take 21 days to order and postage to Austria will take even longer.
