Cool or shocking

My wife has fur lined coat that she brought into the country with her when she came.
It is made to withstand minus 40 degree temperatures and is extremely warm.
It is like a sheepskin coat on the outside (though I think it is deer or caribou), and trimmed in fur, when the hood is down you can also see the fur inside.
So my question is, if you saw a girl in a coat like this would you thoughts be 'fur is murder' or whatever the slogan is, or that it looks nice?

That brings to mind a line from a John Ritter movie when a woman in New York walks in her expensive fur to the taxi and is assailed on the way by an activist who screamed: "Do you know how many animals had to die to make that coat?" to which the wearer responded: "Do you know how many animals I had to f**k to get this coat?"

If it was brand new, I'd be curious as to why she'd bought it.
A vintage fur is a different issue though.
she bought it new 10 years ago.
Edited to add-The Russians don't have the same prejudice against fur, when it gets that cold you can't afford too!!.

Being a fashion ignormaus and man (is there a difference?), I probably wouldn't even notice the coat, too busy imagining whats underneath

Wouldn't really care to be honest. The question i'd be asking is "is she wearing just a thong and knee high boots underneath?"

Fake fur and real fur are so hard to tell apart these days, would probably think it was a nice coat made with fake fur.
I had quite an argument with the dry-cleaner who wanted to charge me £32 to clean my 3/4 length 'sheepskin' coat. She would not have it that it was 100% polyester and since the coat *only* cost £50 I was not going to pay more than half of that just to have it cleaned. Jaglover said:

We should never allow these animal right activists to make us doubt our own judgement on what to wear or not to wear.May as well live under Nazi rule and have done with it.
If the poor woman feels slightly intimidated and self conscious about wearing a fur coat(fake or not), it just shows what the world is coming to .If we all did that , then we would be giving in to terrorists be they animal activists or underground bombers.
As a matter of principle , if she likes the coat , she should wear it without fear or doubt. She has my support that's for sure
