Here is the clicky

They seemed to think the aligator might have clawed its way out of the python, perhaps...

Which would you rather not come face to face with. other than the obvious answers Neither, or both

This one was done a while back and i think it said it was an anaconda, if you look closer it looks like its eaten 2 aligators you can see the jaws of one and the tail of another.
It would be exciting to go looking for snakes this big, with people who knew what they were doing though...awesome creatures.

I thought a snake would constrict and thus kill its prey before swallowing it?

I can only see one ally in the snake, plus some snake innards. Awesome creatures indeed, but Ive got a pretty strong fear of snakes so you go mate, I'll monitor PH in your absence for more reposts

Id have thought so too. I dont believe the pythons eyes were bigger than its stomach. Seems he had a bit of an internal struggle, in deciding.

I think it did then, swallowed it but it exploded because even a python can only take in so much.

I've held one before at a reptile zoo, fecking heavy barstewards let me tell you, no problems believing one of them could crush a croc at all.

If you look at right angles to the tail of the Ali it looks like the closed jawa of a second ali and if you follow it back it looks like the bulge of the body in the snake??...i could be wrong, what do you think.

The constriction kills by suffocation. The snake tightens its coils when the prey breathes out so the prey can't breathe in again. I would imagine that this doesn't work so well on things like crocs which are (a) reptiles and (b) able to stay underwater without breathing for long periods.

I think what you see is the outside of the python's insides. Pythons eat to stay alive, and have survived in laborotory conditions for 3 years with no food. They fall into a kind of hibernation whilst waiting for prey, and can sit still for weeks on end. Its (as far as I know) unlikely a python would eat two gators.

Im not convinced that the gator burst the python. A python can swallow a deer, complete with MASSIVE horns several feet wide, its incredible elasticity taking in objects far bigger than itself, and its powerful digestive acids getting to work disolving even the hardest of horns, hoofs and whatever else they eat.

Look at the photo. There is one ally who has managed to get his entire backside and tail out of the python. It doesnt make sense that the gator is dead, but I dont for a minute believe a dead gator split a python either. all imho.
