Also, he's a flightsim buff, now.. he's got most of the addons,
Most of the add-ons I doubt; stacks here that are free to download, plus there are a bunch of other sites that do paid for downloads, plus proper instruments, so that you can build your own 'simpit', proggies to allow you to run the sim on multiple pc's so that you can have multiple display, it's a huge area where almost endless money can be spent.

He's on there most of the time anyway..
I've found a 'Vulcan' expansion pack in the shops which looks quite nice, only problem is I have no way of finding out if he has got it from somewhere else.
Are there any other flight sims (maybe combat, say WW2 fighter like?) that are worth looking at?

Charlie: I run Combat Flight Sim 3 (Europe).... as well as the predictable Spit/ Me109 scenarios, ground shootups etc you can go online and fly against other people - and some of them are bloody good! - I've wasted many an hour. It's more a game than an accurate simulation of the planes' abilities but a riot all the same. Loads up a lot faster than my civilian Flight Sim too.
Anyone else fancy their chances, look out for my online scenario 'Shot down in a blaze of glory'

Its my Dad's Birthday on Sat.
Are there any new books on Aircraft/Airlines/Aviation that are worth a look?

Take your dad to Motorbooks in Covent Garden (www.motorbooks.co.uk/). Hand over your credit card and go for a short walk. Job done.
vixpy1, look for Jane's combat simulations.
Had one a while back and they are very knowledgable. Give it a go, the one I had was called simply, 'WW2 Fighters', although the screen resolution or whathaveyou leaves a lot to be desired now, it is very playable!

I have CFS3, it's ok, but TBH it's crap compared to the IL2 Forgotten Battles/Pacific Fighters series which are THE WW2 aviation simulators to have. the only trouble is you will need (well you dont HAVE to but it's better if you do) to get IL2:FB, Pacific Fighters and the Aces Expansion Pack so you can merge them together for a huge range of flyable aircraft. IL2 is around £10 now and Pf not much more, AEP is getting quite hard to find. The problem is this series is at the end of it's cycle with the next step Battle of Britain due to be released soon(ish). There is likely to be a 'Gold Pack' DVD release with all of the above on the one disk but it's anyone's guess when that will be released.
IL2:FB
Pacific Fighters
Aces Expansion pack
if he already has those or other simulators this recently released flight pack is well worth the pittance they are charging

I'm a shade sceptical that it could be THAT much better, but as you say you can pick the IL series up on Ebay for buttons (I just checked!) - and the AEP seems to be the one with the highest pricetag.....
Might have to get a copy just to compare...
