Atlanta, a short while ago, this plane had to belly flop as it's gear had failed. Full video on www.cbsnews.com.

Pilot makes a perfect landing with the plane gently coming to a stop and the two on board walking calmly away! Pilot even had foresight to stop the props just as he was about to land.

Well, he had to come down sooner or later...at least
he knew the gear was up....I know of one BA
767 pilot who recently bought one of our donglers a year's
supply of beer after said sharp-eyed dongler noted
the BA guy on late final in a Yak with his gear still
up...and called him before he got a very expensive
sinking feeling.....there but for the grace of God etc...

Give that man a medal! What a superb piece of flying!

The cynic in me does question the medias interest in this. Were they hoping to see a brilliant piece of flying such as that, or be the first to air aerial shots of a fireball?

What do you expect me to say?

Good landing. Minimal damage.

It's a Beech 90/100 King Air, by the way.

Can't be arsed to click the link, was this the one where the passengers were watching it live on the tvs in the plane?

I don't think so - not in Beech.

That was the A320 a few weeks ago.

Does anyone have the slightest idea what this means?

Sorry - I'll translate.

'dongler' = ground crew (generally straight
out of school, mad keen of flying, also
mad keen on beer)

'late final' - about to land

'gear still up' - no wheels, where wheels should be

'BA guy..in a Yak' - the bloke who will be flying
you and the family on holiday...in a Russian flying TVR

The one eyed snake/80's software consultant (dongler?) noticed the black anal (BA) guy being sick (Yak) without taking his trousers down first (gear still up)?

I don't understand. I've flown the King Air, and if you press {ctrl}'H' repeatedly, it manually pumps the landing gear down...

...Wedg1e - barring that, just hit Esc and try again, eh?

Not sure what the keystrokes are to get the engines
shut down and the props stopped and feathered...but
matey landing it this afternoon did...very slick.
