My XDA2 has just given up the ghost, it looks like the touchscreen plate bit has cracked, the LCD display is still fine. Seeing as its touchscreen input only, I'm in need of a paddle.

The question is, should I get a Windows Mobile based replacement, eg, XDA 2i/s or the XDA Exec or a separate phone and PDA, seeing as I already run two mobiles (a works one and a private one), it would mean trundling around an extra bit of kit in my pockets. (Having said that the Exec does look a brick!)

I know PDA/phone combinations aren't everyone's cup of tea, but i like them which is why I'm tempted to upgrade. I find having Sat Nav, Office, oh and a phone etc etc all in the one place really useful. O2 have quoted £99 to upgrade to the XDA2i or XDA2s version and the Exec is currently out of stock. Are there any better options? Nokia Communicator, Treo etc?

If you reckon I should get a PDA and traditional mobile, what do you suggest?

I really don't know how I managed to make a decision before I started using the PH forums!

Iain

I've got a Windows based Orange SPV M500 (xda mini or something?)

It's small enough to be a phone, and useful enough to run TomTom and Office!

another vote for the spvM500 top piece of kit, looking at tom tom but not sure about what sort of nav software to get, if you are getting one now look at T mobile perhaps depending on experience with them and coverage, but at mph on weekend they had nav system within a bundle for extra £40 i think looked pretty good

Is the M500 the same as the T-Mobile MDA Compact? If so, £199 for phone and Co-Pilot Sat Nav, but the tarrifs are really poor compared to the rate I'm getting from O2.

Whats up with it? Anything in particular or just the whole package. I have to admit there are some niggling issues with my XDA2 but nothing to cry about.

Do you use much 3rd party software with it?
