I have a client who'se starting a new business selling pole dancing poles, but with duty and import (rates from the USA etc) the margins are slim. She is trying to find someone in the UK who can engineer a pole for resale.

Any foundry/fabrication/engineers types on PH with their own business, who might be able to help?

Has she considered dancers from other Eastern European countries?

She has one, but she needs a company or someone willing to work with her long term, to create more and manufacturer new ones for resale, and hasnt yet found anyone. I'll mention china to her though, certainly going to be cheaper than ordering stock from the US

There is a company doing this already, I think it's called X poll. Bit underhand but how about her posing as a potential customer and asking plenty of pertinent questions?

(sorry if it's anyone on here's co.)

May be worth speaking to a company that already sells them and asking them on the QT who supplies them.

PoleCats is a big pole dancing supplier. They sell 2 types of poles as well. They are about £160 each.

I cant see them being that much to make, just the fitting could be a problem unless its done by a joiner or suchlike.

Some other places sell them as well such as MyPole and PolePeople. They are all of a similar price.

Strange this topic came up as I was looking for poles last week.
At the apartment we have recessed lights and one has gone, just the right size for a pole as well..

My brother sells these, UK and USA.

They are for fun really, not the sort that you swing upside down on, as they extend and grip the ceiling, rather than bolt into it!

Anyone for a lapdancing kit?

So....

...just to impress the neighbors with, then...

"...and this is our imported Italian hardwood bed. And that, of course, is the Mrs. pole dancing pole. Anyone for another drink?"

I'd have thought all you need is a length of chrome plated steel tube about 2" diameter, with suitable brackets/sockets at each end to hold it in place. Bity like a giant clothing rail really.

Or nick one from a Fire Station when they're on call.

You could probably get 3 dancing poles out of each one I reckon.
