... Ogrish.com

What are your views on this site?
It would be helpful to know why you feel they way you do.

I know doctors and healthcare ctaff who are non-plussed, others who are shocked that any such thing should be shown.

If anyone knows, what is the legal position on this kind of stuff being so freely available to see?

To me it all seems very dodgy, but I can't help but be very compelled to look at it.

that site said:
OGRISH.COM is a website featuring uncensored events including: beheading videos, execution images, accident pictures, gruesome scenes from Iraq etc. We are legally represented by FirstAmendment.com

I didn't go any further after that disclaimer.

A site which has got pics of gory things. Like car accident victims etc. but that is at the mild end of the spectrum, believe me.

Doubtful if they got consent from the victims (in some cases plainly impossible), and what they are trtying to do, other than shock the hapless surfer.

PS and thanks for reminding me... don't look if you are queezy.

Watch that, and you will see the real results of war, what other countries do to their own civilians, etc. It gives you an insight to what really happens when a suicide bomber lets one off. Its not just a puff of smoke that you see on our news channels, but has very real, and disgusting consequences. People say things like this desensetise you, but I feel it has the opposite effect. the images you see on CNN, BBC, and sky news give you more of a non-plussed attitude. Bombs are puffs of smoke, and explosions light up the sky... Thats it. You rarely see the human factor in it all. It is an eye-opener thats for sure.

Ogrish is frankly wrong. I've looked in the past and some of the things I saw made me feel wrong for a few hours afterwards.

It's definitely one of those things that you HAVE to look at and then you really wished you hadn't.

It could well be misconstrued as wrong, and whether permission has been granted is certainly an issue. however, with all the desensetisation of the masses via movies, and the lame, censored news channels we watch give people a view of war, punishment in other countries, etc, a view that is doesn't bother people anymore. Watch any clip from Iraq, checnya, etc, and see what is really happening. It's a far better perspective than watching Putin OR Blair on TV. I think we need things like this to keep things in perspective. War is a computer game now, and conflicts in other parts of the world matter bnot to us.
Yes it is gross, and sickening, but thats what its all about.

An eye opener. Yes I can agree on that. It is perhaps a shame that we are so desensitised these days that we need to see stuff this gruesome to wake us up.

I agree with the premise of the site, we are through society controls removing our ability to evolve. Thats not a good thing, in any way and we'll probably realise that when its all a bit late.

We're animals and we could do with remembering that as a society sometimes...

I see your point, but years ago (WW1 & 2) the footage of war was very limited in comparison to what we see now and there was arguably more empathy back then (from what I hear).

I don't know - I just think that sites like Ogrish are a bit too much - I'd rather be a bit ignorant than look at the images/videos on there.

I see your point, and it is defiantely a shocking site. But I can't see the point of keeping these things from people.

I agree whole heated with this. many people beleive the movies and are far removed from the reality of what really goes on. sites like that open peoples eyes. I wonder if Blair had seen first hand the blood and gore if he would have been so ready to go to war?

Having said that I have no intension of looking at that web site.

I agree to a point but not in the fashion that Ogrish does it. Its not reporting or informative it is disgusting.
Take a look at the 'true gore' video forum and see what type of people frequent it. Very very nasty elements.

I think it's pointless and sick- some of the stuff is so wrong you should be locked up for just wanting to see it imo- it's not what a normal person would ever want to see through choice.

Pretty much my thoughts....you need to factor in the 'out of curiousity' aspect though.

Has anyone read the forum? Now that is a bunch of seriously ill people.....absolutely sick individuals.
