I'm thinking something like:

38 years old, but in excellent condition.
Good bodywork.
Full service history,
Soft top.
Much time and money spent on extras and maintenance.

Does not contain:

Navigation ability, but this can be bought separately.
Spare tyre.
Dynamic stability control.

Reliable runner
Attractive styling
Good solid engine
Regularly serviced
Can be a bit twitchy and unpredictable in the corners, but overall, a pleasure to drive

When new was my dream car:

Sleek lines.
Soft to the touch.
Sweet smell - like fresh leather.
Purrs like a kitten.
Screams when thrashed.
Handles well, especially in the wet.
Comfortable ride with tight suspension.
Thirsty, drinks a lot.
Expensive to maintain.
Needs and gets regular services.
Foreign manufacturer.

After years of ownership:
Has monthly oil leak.
ECU plays up monthly and at random.
Performance curve now set to economy.
Down on power - only firing on 3.
Radio stuck on one channel & volume set too loud.
High on consumables.
Recent respray to beige.
Smells a bit Muskee
Now a classic.
Needs ground-up restoration.
Loooking for a second car for weekend fun.

One careful lady owner
Taxing and testing (may fail next MOT on exhaust emissions)
Sat nav (however doesn't work in multi-story car parks)
Bit of a dodgy starter in the mornings
Fuelled by ethanol...
