Hi all,

we're moving out of our office and have 'discovered' 10-12 pc monitors.

Seems a shame to chuck them away - so does anyone have a need for them or know of a charity that would come and collect them?

Thanks,
Kirsty

Try your local school.

You might need to get them to sign a disclaimer though in case there is a problem with them.

At work we weren't allowed to give them to local schools they had to be collected by an official disposal company. Just in case whoever took the PC/Monitor etc got an electric shock

and probably interactive white boards too! They are pretty well equipped these days.

Erm ... how big are they? (Vixpy1 STOP IT!)

If they are large (like, 21" or bigger) then I could be interested in one ...

Probably worthless in that case, when you consider how cheap low-end flat panels are now.

I bought a Compaq v70 17" monitor for £2 last week from ebay.

Can't normally give them away, either find a local company that recycle old computer kit or pay a visit to the council tip.

you just give them to the pikeys at the dump. we did that a year ago and they pleased as anything. didn't tell them that none of the stuff they were given worked.

Just leave them on the pavement somewhere. It won't be long before someone comes along and picks them up. Probably best not to leave them all in the same place though.

Mate of mine used to get me to fix TVs for him and then he'd flog them at car boot sales. The ones that were past fixing I used to strip the boards out of as a source of parts for the ones that weren't past it; my mate would then leave the empty (but still with screen) shells on a bench across the road. They never stayed there more than an hour or two.

Hmm, I'd rather have a 15" CRT than a 15" flat panel any day of the week. However, I am well supplied with monitors at the moment

You could ebay them, "£1 a monitor, pickup only"

At least there not going to waste...
