First off, I like cats and we love our own moggy to bits!

But, my poor old mum has a garden that is rapidly turning in to the feline equivalent of a public convenience and is regulalry haunted by cats jumping the fence, having a poo, and then going back from whence they came but 100g lighter.

She has tried everything but nothing works. She is fed up of placing bottles of water, lion poo, onion skins, orange peel, pepper etc etc around the garden.

Now, I have seen this ultrasonic cat scarers for sale that all obviously claim they work, But do they?

Anyone on here have any experience with using one of these harmless deterrants and can vouch they work, or even better, recommend one to me?

They work alright. It's just finding the sonic cats that's the problem.

er, also, if you have a cat how is it going to get back to the house if you've got one of these things running?

Well she did start looking at getting a shot gun licence to "remove" the problem. Untill we pointed out a few legal issues and the fact that it would damage any plants etc in the area around the cat being shot. (She was more concerend about the plants than the Law...)

I've got one of those 'Scorpion' capaults ( the ones with the sight and wrist stabiliser ) I use it with mini paint balls, excellent for squirrels, cats, crows and any other unwelcome garden visitors

Supersoakers are great. No harm done, and they send little animals scurrying away, with no angry neighbours knocking on your door. I wish peeps would do that rather than killing the little blighters...
