Car Boots -Question for the PH Pikeys.
Discussion
Anyone ever done a car boot sale?
I dread the thought of it but I have so much stuff that is too good just to chuck.
I had a massive clearout of clothes which I gave to the local charity shop but I have boxes of cast off bits of furniture, electrical goods and the like that need to go. I really can't be bothered to stick stuff in the paper I would rather do the lot in one hit.
The problem is I just don't know if I can be dealing with the kind of people that go there without losing my rag and setting fire to the lot???
Help please.

Never done a car boot sale, but I reckon that would be 'fun' to lose it with the 'bargain hunters' by setting fire to the paste table and all what's on it
Seems like you and me have something in common....I can't suffer fools or tw@ts gladly...God knows how many sales I've lost by telling 'potential buyers' to p!ss off when they start picking holes with the car I've been selling

Don't go to them these days,
too many traders selling chocolate strength handtools,
and the occasional abandoned stall, full of specialisd cat-toys,
they must go home with al the stock, swearing never to go again.
You must expect the great un-washed to feel their getting a bargain,
and to start their haggling, with a derisory snort, at your opening suggested price.
Half of it ends up on e-bay in the end anyway,
why not cut out the middle-man/scrote, and just do it yourself.
Before you do this though, give us all a glimpse into your private hell,
and briefly describe the jetsam, your trying to off-load.

people always seem to assume you can go to car boot sales and ask good money for things!....who on earth goes to a boot sale to pay half tidy money for stuff, its meant for cheap tat, or for stuff you dont give a monkeys what price you get for it!
my parents do lots of boot sales to fund their local badger group (all with donated tat), and they've never asked more than a fiver for anything, with most prices being in the 50p-£1 range, and their take is usually in the £70-£100 mark.
if you do one, just take the crap you'd be happy throwing away, and any price you get for it will be a bonus, anything worth any money, stick it on ebay.
