Our larger magnets can easily bruise fingers and

Neodymium magnets are not suitable for children to play with,
and should only be handled under strict adult supervision.

Cool!

Beware - you must think ahead when moving these magnets.
If carrying one into another room, carefully plan the route you will be taking. Computers & monitors will be affected in an entire room. Loose metallic objects and other magnets may become airborne and fly considerable distances - and at great speed - to attach themselves to this magnet. If you get caught in between the two, you can get injured.
Two of these magnets close together can create an almost unbelievable magnetic field that can be very dangerous. Of all the unique items we offer for sale, we consider these two items the most dangerous of all. Our normal packing & shipping personnel refuse to package these magnets - our engineers have to do it. This is no joke and we cannot stress it strongly enough - that you must be extremely careful - and know what you're doing with these magnets. Take Note: Two of the 3" x 1" disc magnets can very easily break your arm if they get out of control.
Axially Magnetized (the top & bottom flat faces are the north & south poles).
We can only ship these magnets by ground UPS - they cannot be shipped via air as it will interfere with the aircraft's navigational equipment.

but sooooo cool!!!!

I've 8 and 9 year olds, problem is if I buy them toys, they want to play with them. I've bought them this:
for Christmas..

At least I play against them.

Wow I have got to buy one of those $100 supermagnets

I'll wait and see if a steel £10 coin is released, then have a stroll down the street

Dave.

Those magnets look so cool.

How much is marketing hype and how much is actually true?

Don't know about the arm breaking stuff but, I have seen computer monitors destroyed within a few days because they have been used near (less than 3m away) large studio speakers.

Excellent!
I want one, but dare not order unless it wipes my hard drive clean.

If we started a PH fund, and saved up for 1000 magnets ($100k) we could build a our own skate park for hover boards

The practical joke potential is epic!

Please not gravity!

Check the discussion on the current physics style thread about that one and everyone's brain is smoking... Or at least mine is...

Now magnetism I can explain. That one is relatively easy to comprehend with GCSE or A level physics.

Think of it as one of the effects of electricity and electrical fields, its an effect generated by the movement of charged particles within a magnetic field.

You can create many different types of magnets, such as electromagnets that only function strongly when there is a strong current running through them - or permanent magnets, which rely on either partially filled electron shells in their constituent elements.

So what would one of those magnets do to, say, a digital camera that was housed, just for example, in a sturdy steel box?

Break the lock on the box, or send the box hurtling towards you at breakneck speeds. I want one
