Friend of mine (female) has an ex of hers named as a named driver on her car insurance.. it lowered her premium adding him on.

Her ex has just lost his license due to DD.. question is- does she need to inform the insurance company or remove him (since he no longer holds a license)

Thanks..

I'd do both, it falls in the category of a material fact.

...if they put the premium back up, it'd still be cheaper than not getting a claim paid!

I would ask the company to remove him from the policy, as a disqualified driver can never be insured.

I wonder if she will still get the discounted premium if she swaps him for another named driver?

When my mother informed her insurer that my father had died, the bastards took him off the policy and charged her an increased premium for the balance of the year.

Strangely enough she didn't renew her insurance with them....

I mention no names, so that I don't cause unnecessary embarrassment to Liverpool Victoria / Frizell.

I thought having more drivers on a policy always increased the premium?

Just something I read on the MSN car section, in passing, you understand... They can never be trusted
