I am going to stick my neck out and say this.

It seems to me that apart from having some serious debate in this forum, engaging in some harmless fun with funny innuendos using pictures is against the rules in PH, and it leads to another new thread being closed.

My thinking was ...We are all adults, not classroom pupils, and having a laugh sometimes is part of the whole PH psyche...or am I wrong?

You're right, but you forget that some peoples only power in life is closing threads.

Once you learn to accept that, this place can indeed be fun.

Actually not all of us are adults. There are some younger members who visit PH. Also primarily this is Ted's site and his living and if he or his mods feel a topic is inappropriate then they have full right to close it.

Also once again PH is primarily a motoring site. And yes I know I have posted c*ap with the best of them.

Innuendo can be a bit childish, though I do do it myself, I can understand why the thread is closed.

Whilst it wasnt me that closed it, if it was funny I could have seen it staying open.

Trouble is, it wasnt.

Its been done, we've all seen it before and debating that we've all seen it before eats bandwidth and server space and they arent free.

agreed it wasn't funny Matt. It's been tirelessly done before.

I prefer to look at it this way. Some threads are started to massage an ego some are ended in the same sad manner.

I think there are some people who find that sort of thread quite tiresome and have previously complained. Personally I find all the watch threads tiresome and would like to see them closed as soon as they appear but what can you do?

I'm of the opinion if you don't like the content in a thread - move onto another one, but if a thread is in danger of being reduced to bad taste then it should be closed.

Wasn't this sort of thing the reason a rating system was introduced? I didn't see a thumbs down next to it.

The reason they are closed is that I simply want to retain some standards here and keep debate as adult as possible rather than let the site descend into a teenage chat room.

Personally I think innuendo is a form of wit that lacks imagination and aside from the occasional nob gag is simply tiresome. I'd like to raise the bar when it comes to humour on the forums.

I've just checked out the 'Blonde chick with nice Pussy' thread and let's face it we all knew what was going to be in there before we opened it. Threads like that potentially cause corporate nanny filters to barf so that's another negative as most people read at work.

Sorry to be a bore, but you're going to have to try harder

...and the other reason that threads are closed is simply to add fuel to Flasher's conspiracy theories
