I bought some Xbox 360 magazines in November, and noticed the mobile phone porn subscriptions in the back. Cool I thought, I quite like the blonde witht the... but hang on a minute. Dont 7, 9 and 11 year olds have mobile phones, and buy this same xbox magazine off the shelf?

There isnt an "over 18 only" purchasing age required to buy the mag either. So who's idea was it to put adult content subscriptions in a kids magazine, and who honestly thinks little johnny isnt going to use his phone to download videos of a pretty girl who, in 30 seconds, is going to be wapping out her lovely bouncing jabber clackers for him to oogle at??

Max Power is the ubermag concerning porn for kids, it's practically the mags main selling feature.

Cheers,
Rob.

What about Nuts - I bought the first addition whilst waiting for a train, thinking the bird on the cover looked nice. Hopped on the train, opened the mag... Practically every page was a double page spread with between 1 and 4 naked women. Needless... I bought a few more editions after that But is it right that this content be available to anyone of reading age and ability? Any parents with opinions?

I used to read gaming and computer mags at that age, then I realised that car magazines had more 'totty' in them, so I switched, even though my interest in cars was only mild at the time (though as a very young child they had interested me more) but it provided the most convenient source of... errr, 'that kind of material', admittedly I was a tad older than the ages you give, but not that much older.

Funnily enough though I ended up becoming more interested in cars as a result and ended up graduating to the more 'hardcore' proper motoring mags since most of the Australian car mags had reduced or removed the amount of semi naked women in the mags and, probably more significantly, the internet became available.

So there you go kiddies, be warned, innocent soft pornography can lead into an unhealthy interest in fast cars and even more dangerously could lead to really addictive stuff like Pistonheads.

I can quit anytime I want though, honestly...

It's weird though. I bought MaxP on friday as it had a feature on the nuts 800bhp+ evo9 and other than one 4page spread and the usual pornline ads at the back, it was all about cars and mods. They've even changed their tag line from "Arsing about in cars" to something performance related.

Believe it or not there is NO SUCH THING as a rating system for magazines or their content. Theoretically anyone can buy anything, any age.

The only law that comes into play is the obcene publications act, which defines the boundary of printed porn in the UK.

The TOP SHELF system is a voluntary code.

Think about it, when did you ever see a rating system (such as on videos and games) on a magazine?

Crazy world.

My 15 year old son gets Nuts and M*x Power.

I don't mind him looking at the naked birds. It's the M*xed up cars that I worry about!

I was once told that I couldn't buy Stuff magazine as it has a picture of a woman with a laptop over her tits. Thing is, Stuff doesn't have ANY other "pictures" inside other than actual gadget stuff.

But the top shelf thing is true, I know a little shop where the owner is happy to sell top shelf material to kids in yrs 9 and below at my school (yes, BELOW), and never asks for ID if you buy fags. He has also once offered to sell me and some of my mates "some of the stuff I've got down here", which we refused as we didn't have a clue what he was on about, and it could have been anything!

Never bought Max power before, but the really screwed up thing is I can buy FHM, Nuts, Zoo and mags like that, yet in about 50% of shops I'm refused sale of 15 DVD's even though I'm 16! (I don't normally carry round ID) - it gets really annoying, especially when I want to buy a present for someone...

>>one more thing, kids as young as 12 can now get bank accounts with Solo cards (like switch cards) which means you can buy ANYTHING off the web - now that is dangerous, and you never get anything more than a "if you are under 18, please leave this site"

Porn for adults is a a bit sad and pathetic. FFS get a real woman!

Young children don't actually relate to this sort of thing as adults do. They just see "mummies and daddies with their clothes off".

A bit older or early teens... ? Hmmm I'm not sure. Loads of this stuff gets passed around playgrounds in this age group but it's usually a giggle factor thing. How many of you were handed this sort of thing at school but can't be bothered with it now? How many of you were corrupted by it and became sex offenders or pervs? Not Many.

Do not think that 14 boys having a wank over some bird with her tits out does any harm.

I would advise against starting threads on interweb forums with the words 'porn' and 'children' in..

You are probably now being flagged up on all sorts of computers as will all you other contributors to this thread.

damn.
