Does anybody here use '3'? I'm thinking about signing up, but is the coverage anygood? I work round the country and throughout Europe and was wondering if anybody here uses them?

That's what I thought! Although, it could make my life a lot easier if work couldn't call me...

Poor coverage, poor customer service (Indian call centre), can't use the SIM in 2G phones - my advice- its cheap for a reason and I couldn't wait to get away from them.

I'm the opposite - excellent coverage, no dropped calls, good customer service. You can't put your sim in a 2G phone but why would you need to? You can't use the browser in it, and can't make video calls with a 2G phone. New RAZR is good

3 As a service provider has been excellent in my experience (just over a year).

Blighted unfortunately by having the mother of all crap phones: the Motorola E1000.

Now have an N70 which is a good size for a 3 phone and so far so good .

£35 for 400 minutes and 250 texts plus half price deals etc can't be beaten!

Hmmmmm............

Pity to hear about the E1000 as that's one one they replaced the TOTALLY CRAP A1000 I has to start with. The E1000 has been OK so far what were your problems??
Customer service is fine until things don't go well then.............................CRAP as well with no resolution to problems......all in all 40%.

It was the Battery which, by the end of my contract used to die because it was cold (golf bag, no calls made).

Had to get it replaced after six months because the speaker went and all you could hear is white noise. However I will confess to being a bit of a phone dropper so I may be partly to blame for this .

On top of these two major problems I was just horrified at how basic the phone was. It doesn't come with half the apps my old T610 had let alone what I expect from a new age 3G phone.

The text and camera etc were very good but compared to the N70 I've had for the last week the E1000 isn't in the same game I'm afraid!

N70 is very impressive and a good size/quality too.

From now on I will only use Nokia and SonyEricsson because they're both great phone manufacturers.

The E1000 was launched as people wanted the features of the A1000 but not as big or in a PDA style handset. At the time LG were giving them poor phones with the LG8120, and this did not help as they were sold in their truck loads. The Mumbai contact centre is good when you need them. If you have a fault, they have a support team in Glasgow which is solely for stores - head to your nearest Carphone and get them to call instead. One thing I will say is that 3G is the way forward, and with 3 having the largest licence you can guarantee they will have the latest handsets on the market as soon as they are released.

Shame to hear about other issues, but my wife is on 3 and hasnt got any major problems. Great package on the call costs (very competitive) and the phone is alright too. But basically if the 3 network is unavailable it falls back to the O2 one. So no real problems and rarely drops out on calls / service / coverage.

So far so good and pretty happy. Not hard need to use customer service though - so cant comment on that side of things. Its not that bad... well from what we see....
