Nursery owner charged with assualt
Discussion
A nursery owner has been charged with common assault after intervening to stop a toddler hitting a baby with a wooden brick.
She was charged on the evidence of two county council officials who were visiting the nursery.
The parents of the toddler have no complaints and still send their child there.
But these parasitical busybodies want her charged.

A nursery owner has been charged with common assault after intervening to stop a toddler hitting a baby with a wooden brick.
Olive Rack, 55, who runs Tresco House Day Nursery, in Kettering, will appear in magistrates court this week in a case brought by Northamptonshire police. The toddler's parents have made no complaint and still send their little girl to the nursery.
Olive Rack: 'Nothing unusual in the way I dealt with it'
The charges relate to an incident in July which was reported by two Northamptonshire county council officials who were visiting the nursery to advise on funding.
It is alleged that Mrs Rack assaulted the two-and-a-half year old child when she took her by the arm, sat her on a chair and told her off for striking a 12-month-old baby with a toy brick.
Mrs Rack, who has run nurseries for 19 years and is a qualified nursery nurse, said that she had followed standard procedures and denied any suggestion of assault.
"I was talking to two council workers, who had their back to the play area, when I saw a little girl pick up a large toy brick and hit the baby over the head," she said. "She was about to do it again when I rushed into the room to stop her.
"I went over and as the child saw me she dropped the brick and started crying. I took her by the hand and moved her to a chair, sat her down, and said to her to sit quietly and think about what she had just done.
"I went back to see if the baby was OK and, thankfully, she was fine. I was about to go back to the little girl to have a talk with her but one of the council workers had intervened and was cuddling her."
Mrs Rack insists that her actions were no different to those taken by parents and childcare workers in similar circumstances.
"There was nothing unusual in the way I dealt with it," she said. "It was an everyday thing and I thought no more about it.
"Of course the little girl cried, that was part and parcel of her age and the situation, but I have to think about the safety of other children in the nursery."
Mrs Rack said the little girl's parents had since increased the child's hours at the nursery, which is Ofsted-registered and caters for 35 children aged one to eight.
A spokesman for Northamptonshire police said that Mrs Rack had been charged with common assault following an incident on July 18, and was due to appear at Kettering magistrates court on Wednesday.

If it does turn out to be just another over zealous finger/blame pointing exercise, can the council be fined for wasting everyone's time?
What would be the point of fining the council?, if she is cleared perhaps the two busybodies in question could be fired for wasting everyone's time.
And we wonder why we have people with no respect for others in our society?
Surely by cuddling the toddler, that person is praising it for its actions?
edit: Are we getting the full story here - it does seem too stupid even for PC this day and age?

I've yet to meet a 'social worker' who isn't a meglomaniac "jobsworth" - with the "I'm right, everone else is wrong" syndrome. These "holier than thou" types really p**s me off.
I've got a friend who runs a kindergarten, and she's forever trying to justify her existence, and it's got to the stage where she's thinking of giving up - even though she's never had a single complaint from a parent....

My first thoughts are ...Bend both council officials over a table take two sticks of celery and make them disapear followed by a good horse whipping,,that should show them the meaning of assault.
My second thoughts are ..notice the word FUNDING
I wonder if the council are looking for a way out of funding the Nursery.
Very valid point if we have to take the Council officials seriously, who authorised them to cuddle the child, that could be seen as assault in its self.
