we've been given a bottle of this for Christmas, it's a 1982 vintage. I know it's a fortified wine, but is it anything I would want to drink?
The people who gave it to us know that we like vintage port, are there any similarities?

Google came up with loads of stuff. it's made with grapes high in sugar, and they add grape spirit to artificially stop the fermentation, resulting in a sweet fortified wine.

certainly not the best timing - but the lack of money coming in will motivate me to get another job pretty damn quick
