So....i ordered a dvd player from amazon...parcelforce tracking shows it to have been delivered today to someone in another part of the country!

Anyone any idea/experience with this sort of thing?

I'd particularly like to know if they will just ship another dvd player or whether they expect me to faff around with parcelforce etc when i have no papers etc etc.

Any info/help much apprecaited.

Not your responsiility. They are the sender and the contract is between in Amazon and Parcelforce. You call them explain the situation and request that a new one is shipped asap as you needed it for Christmas.

Amazon are pretty good about sending a replacement. IIRC, you just have to go online and report it.

Ordered from Firebox.com on Saturday - was delivered today (impressive) and Royal Mail left it on the front door...

I live in a Victorian terrace with around 1m of front garden from the pavement - wtf?

Get this all the time. I was actually standing in the hall one time and watched the postie walk up the path and DROP the parcel on the doorstep and go to walk away. i opened the door as he walked off and asked what he was doing, he gave me a dirty look and carried on walking. I was at the sorting office (its about half a mile from my house) chatting to the boss when he returned from his round. Got a written appology, but what'a' you know, its still happens.

If there is a charge on the parcel to collect at the door half the time they dont even bother, they write the card out in the van and post that through the door filled in as "sorry you were out" . bar stewards!!!!
