My battery has given up the ghost on my Ipod Mini, can it be replaced?
It is out of warranty by the way!

Certainly, click on your Ipod model and then self-fit and it will give you complete instructions with photos.

Tip - their batteries are £25, all the ones on Ebay are between £5 and £10!

I've got an Ipod Mini and it looks fairly straight forward for that model.

Literally just fitted the battery and it's a doddle, 10 min job!

to be honest i think it looks all the more complicated because of the amount of detail there is in the step by step instructions.

should be simple procedure when you are doing it faced with the unit in front of you, like expensive lego,

I replaced my battery last month and it was a complete nightmare! Getting the case open proved to be incredibly difficult and actually broke the two plastic tools they sent with the battery. Saves you about £30 over what Apple would charge though.

I have a 3rd gen ipod here in bits with a dead hard drive, opened it fine with some assorted guitar plektrums. Now need a hard drive for it and found one on ebay. Sorted.

The trick is not to use the plastic tools but a jewellers driver set.
