Didn't even get below 0 in London last night. Was colder on Tuesday when it hit -2. Load of cobblers though. -30, that's cold, but still not too bad. Everyone in Moscow seems to manage to function perfectly well when it gets down to that, clear roads, warm houses etc.

I think five feet of snow would be epic, I think we'll be lucky to get a foot though. Annoying on the roads, but hardly a major problem.

Don't worry, you'll have rain tomorrow. Although, saying that, it's supposed to be raining here atm...but it's minus 3. I'm sure they mean well.

The trouble is, our media will report a light dusting of snow like this...

and present it like it is this...

The worst bit is the numpties can no more differentiate than the media.

SEtrains said:
The trains on our network draw electrical power from the 'third rail' which runs along the train track (rather than from overhead power cables like in some areas). When ice forms on the conductor rail it becomes an insulating layer making it impossible for the trains to draw current and have power to move. We do try many things to keep the rails free of ice such as laying 'de-icer' fluid and running special trains overnight to remove the ice. But despite our best efforts when the temperature drops very low, snow falls and ice forms we are not able to run a train service.

Hmmmmmm

Just how big are the girl second left's sunglasses? In my profession I believe they'd be called spu*k deflectors.

-9 in Derby this morning when we went in to town, can't remember the last time it was that cold, very very nippy. Also have freezing fog and what snow we did have two days ago is now quite icy.
