Drunks using Ambulances.
Discussion
In some parts of London this New Years Eve they are going to use mini buses to ferry the real bad drunks to Hospital so the ambulances are not tied up for real emergencies.
It is still going to tie up staff at A&E Depts around the country, forgive me if ime not being understanding but i cant feel any thing other than this being a waste of resources and money,i feel sorry for the nurses
How about a Horse and cart service run by those that have been given community service, the only problem is where to take the cargo

nah, sorry, dont quite agree with you. the alcohol is taxed & the money used to pay for the alcohol is heavily taxed. if you want to get drunk and end up in casualty you are only using a service you already paid for!

Fair point, but what about if it ties up an ambulance in other places where they are not using minibuses ,and they cant deal with normal emergencies?
ZR1cliff said:Yes, hopefully the A&E staff assess priority on criteria which include 'did the patient have a choice about being here'. Getting to the stage and state that you need emergency treatment for alcohol poisoning also suggests you have a very sad life so joning a crochet circle might help as a New Year resolution.

According to the news report, would you believe some people go to A&E for treatment for hangovers

not sure if my father called 999 or rang the local police station - but hes made that call
they did have our dog and he was in a cell. cost £5 to get him back!
