Odd experience earlier.
While my car is being repaired I am currently borrowing a Lotus Elise. Its not mine so I am driving it carefully.
Anyways I was driving down a major road (40MPH limit) earlier this evening in it, and I passed a middle aged woman glaring at me from the pavement beckoning me and mouthing at me "SLOW DOWN" - at this point I was doing around 30mph so I naturally thought that she was kindly warning me of a hazard ahead.
No. It would seem that she thought my evil car was doing far far quicker than the speed limit and she took it upon herself to tell me off
Disturbing really. Wonder if she works for the local Scamera partnership

There was this guy down a friends way who would always wave his walking stick at 'noisy' cars as they drove by, not just me. So i stopped one day and asked him what was wrong, did he heed help? as he seemed pretty stressed, perhaps hed lost his dog?
so he just glares at me screaming the youth of today etc.. etc.. so anyway as i pulled of i told him next time he shakes that stick at me it will be taken off him and thrown in the woods nearby
for some reason i saw him again but he had no stick, maybe someone else had the same idea

it tends to be older types, with little yorkies, or scotty dogs that wear those silly little tartan jumpers. I don't think they have a great deal else to do. When they aren't outside waving sticks at cars for no reason, and generally tutting their way through their latter years, they are at home writing to the local rag because some children have been playing football, and the fact that it wasn't like that in the old days...

I've had this too from some woman, I was prob doing 20 - 25 in a 30 and she was on the wrong side of the road just passing a parked car. I had to stop to let her pull over to the lhs, she then showed me 3 fingers and mouthed 30 to me to which she got the 20 sign back.
Did you then give the appropriate gesture for a coffee invitation?

Swiftly followed by the international 'I'll only tell you ONCE' sign...

Happened to me a few weeks ago. A woman in her early 60s stepped off the kerb without looking and i had to stop. I was doing less than 30 mph and yet she still shouted at me for driving too fast. I sat there fuming and then spent the rest of the evening thinking of witty cutting remarks that i could have made....
Welcome to the Lotus world.
Flashing cars (coming and going), slow down signs when you're driving under the limit, angry gestures mainly coming from the older/duller (men and women alike). My wife says it's because the car looks fast even standing still
, and... because it's loud
But on the other hand lots of admiration signs from the younger, the funniest one being 3 lads at a filling station about 1:00 am kneeling in front of me and a friend shouting "we're not worthy, we're not worthy!"
It's like the twilight zone but you'll get used to it.

I always find that getting out and having a word tends to cure their behaviour...
It's always the same small minded types.
Open with, "Good evening, I saw you were trying to communicate with me - what was it you found so urgent to say, that needed me to stop..."
Usual silence...
Then: "Oh well, I leave you to your small minded existence, I wish my life was empty enough that I have the time to wave at cars that are legal and being driven under the speed limit, to get them to take their attention form then road, in the hope that I can start an accident."
Tossers.
Happy new year all.
