.....and you see 145 unread actionable emails plus 12+ voicemail messages and 2 presentations to do.

Not to mention planning that trip to meet your new reporting manager and your personal focal point review that determines whether you get salary increase for FY06 or not. (Most likely not)

Does anyone else hate the anti-climax of coming back from Christmas, back to work?

I've always hated going back to work after any time off, always so many fires to put out. Back to school tomorrow though which is cool because it puts me one day closer to getting a better paying job that I can't stand taking time off from.

I'm self employed, due to nature of work I haven't actually earned anything since about the 15 December, back to work yesterday, start earning again next week! (so that's near enough a month off there!)

I did that before christmas. Fortunately, I noticed before I left the office, but I did get 455-ish emails in about 12 minutes. Oops.

You think that was shite. I got back today to a letter from the Revenue claiming we owed them £25K and that they'd seize our assets in five days...date on letter 21st Dec, payment due 28th Dec. Today: 3rd January. Nice one guys. Turns out it was a missing filing from two/nearly three years ago...how the fnurk that could get overlooked for so long I have no fnurking idea.

Had to get down the auditors pronto tonto to get it sorted out. Still not sure if the sodding bailiffs are going to turn up. And it turns out that this missing filing is the reason they've not paid us £9K we're owed. So when we get it sorted the bailiffs will have to burst in to....give us some money! .

Got it heading via courier to 'em now. Why they just couldn't just phone me up, eighteen months ago, I'll never understand.

Well for the first time in just over 2 months of lazing around, I will be at work from Monday. A jolly to London for 2/3 days to the head offices then back up to Manchester to start work on PM at the Shell refinery at Stanlow (hope they have a cheap optimax pump onsite to keep Miss Daisy ticking over).

TBH the hardest thing is getting back into the bed at a decent time/up in a morning, rather than bed in the early hours and getting up before it goes dark (normally lounge around for ages).

Hmmm...work. Hmmm. Money

It's a nightmare. Straight back into school today and solid lectures all day on MIS and Strategy with presentations due next week. Not to mention the marketing assignment that had to be handed in at 9am this morning. Still working now and it's nearly 10pm. Still, all in the pursuit of excellence and that...!

Been really hectic at work today. Decided to take 5 this afternoon and have a quick look at PH (had a quick look this morning and posted) only to find that they have blocked it.

That's right, the bastards have runied my new year already. Don't know how I'm gonna cope without PH to break the day up

Just hoping that I can get on in the 12-2 lunch where the firewall drops (ebay comes available so hope so!)
