Have just won a couple of auctions on ebay for different items from the same seller. Seller has agreed to reduce postage as they will be posted together, but ebay and paypal has just added the postage charges together.

How can I edit the amount paypal sends accordingly?

Postage costs are in a separate box and you can edit them accordingly, in the Paypal window.

Doesn't seem to be any way to edit it

When you are checking out in eBay, you can change postage.. This is before you get to paypal..

If you click on the Pay Now button it will take you to the invoice, which will include both items..

On the subject of paypal, has anyone discovered why paypal insists on bank details to verify you when it aleardy has your credit card details. I believe they limit you to £500 total spend with them and then kick you out if you refuse?

paypal was a total nightmare when i re-set it up in november. you have to confirm via bank account and then via a credit card.

Nope, there is no way to alter any of the amounts or p&p from any of the screens.

I have emailed the seller to ask him to alter it for me. I am sure I've been able to change it in the past...

For the postage problem, if you can't change it then the reson is probably because he has already sent you an invoice (or this has happened automatically) so you will not be able to change it.. you can only email the seller for this.

About adding to your item's description... clicked revise?? You can revise your listing but only if it has no bids... If you need to edit your listing, then bids have to be cancelled first.
Also, you cannot edit or add to your lisiting if it has less then 12 hours remaining..

just paypal him the ammount you want to send...there's no need to use the ebay side of it.

I've done that - made slightly more difficult by the fact that paypal won't accept you are paying for more than item, but should be ok with cover note.

Now to see if it turns up (bloke has been rather incommunicative thus far...)

I've had this in the past - if the total postage is locked and you can't edit it there is another box in the charges column for special charges/fees or somesuch - simply add the figure you want removed as a negative and re-calculate. Sorry for being a bit vague but I don't currently have anything to pay for so can't give you the exact terms used by PayPal.

I've changed it by logging into the PAYPAL website and finding outstanding Auctions then changing it, rather using Paypal within eBay.
Does that make sense ?

I have a verified account with Paypal and was surprised to find that the money henceforth comes out of your BANK ACCOUNT with the credit card as a back-up source of funds. Seems they don't like you loading up your credit card. Another thing I found with Paypal is that having paid for items by Paypal, a part I ordered wasn't in stock, so I asked for a refund. Now money coming INTO the account gets charged a fee so I was $10 down.

MY final gripe with Paypal is that it's pretty useless as most US traders won't supply the UK. When you use an agent in the US, there is no provision on the UK site to specify a US address as a delivery address. I e-mailed Paypal and got this response:

They can refund fee-free... next time get 'em to go into the transaction details of the payment you sent to them... and they can just click 'refund'.
Unless they have changed this, which I seriously doubt, it'll save you a bit of cash next time!!

Edit:

And about the Bank account/Credit Card thing..

I added my bank account for verification, and that is fine, but when I pay for things I never use my bank account.. You can select your credit cards each time you pay for something just by selecting 'Payment Source..' or similar (The link is under the amount that will be charged). On this page you can change primary source to your credit/debit card.. and then the Backup source to either the same card, or another one

I always do that as my Debit card cannot go overdrawn

Dave.
