My mate and I (the ones that drove that beat up van to Naples last year) are trying to think of an idea for our next trip. We want to do something that's never been done before, something different and something that will be the trip of a lifetime.

Any ideas?

around the coast of Britain on through roads which are THE absolutely nearest one to the sea would be interesting but has been done. In an Austin Allegro if my memory serves me right. What a class trip in such a carp car?

Now how about North American continent? Canada be a bit of a pain.

Had a look at the site now and it looks fantastic. Shame I don't have a fast enough car to take part!

get one of the boat cars and drive around the world under your own power. That would be impressive, much better than branson and his silly balloon games, or those boring yachts

Or drive around Antarctica, pretty sure noones done that before (might be a reason for that...)

Something I have really wanted to do and may actually become a reality in 2008/09 is to drive the whole of the Pan American Highway. Thats driving from Chile to Alaska. Not many people have done that. If you want to make it a real first you would have to drive across the Darien Gap using the same car as the rest of the journey and that car would have to be two wheel drive.

That rings a bell, what is the gap exactly, is it the only unmade stretch of that highway?
