Just started this last week - Christ, it's EXACTLY like bleedin' Fat Fighters from Little Britain ... woman actually said: "We have some new members ... "

Think at my present weight (16st 3lb) I was in need of some direction on the eating front - years of takeaways and chocolate have done me no favours although I don't think I look (too much) like a fat bastard.

So what with WW and squash and a bit of running, I expect I'll be topping the scales at some Kate Moss-esque weight in a few months. The first meeting last week was great for people watching though ...

I can have 30 points a day and so far I've yet to top 23 - and am still eating well ... although the chocolate is out (as you might expect) - the wife did pick up some Weight Watchers Mini Rolls for me though - only 1.5 points each

Anyone else had an success following their routines? And howw muh did you lose and how quickly. WW book says I should weight between 10st and 12st 1lb for my height (5ft 9in). Bloody printing error if you ask me!

Yep.........started over 2 years ago, lost 4 stone in 2 years to reach my goal weight. Took me so long cos i cheat sometimes, especially at xmas which is why I'm glad all the xmas treats have finally either been eaten or I've thrown them away.

The meetings are funny, but you can pick up useful tips sometimes.

Best of luck, give me a shout if you want any help 2 years down the line I'm pretty good at it by now.

You'd be surprised, they're not all fat mingers that go you know. I met one girl there who was a perfect size 10, but she had to work at it.

But yes there are some big ladies that go too.

I photocopied a friends sheets etc a couple of years back, kept with it, introduced some exercise which I increased over time, and in two years lost 6 stone. I'm now a pretty steady 14st 8lb, but used to be over 21st when I was at uni. It costs a fortune in new clothes (14 inch loss around the waist) but it's so worth it and the WW plan does seem to work. I didn't do the meetings or anything, but I guess they help the situation. Go for it, and good luck!!!

Mate, your looking at it wrong!

You go to weight watchers to chat with XXXXXXXL ladies, they think your a very, very nice man and introduce you to their fit mates who have just been dumped by their asshole boyfriends

Charlie, I couldn't resist an AA quip

Cheeky request....

Anyone got a sheet they could photocopy/scan for me, I don't have time to go to a class and am too tight to pay for it online

No worries if not, I'll carry on just counting calories, but I'm intrigued with the whole points system

Yes, I did the program in 2002. I found the WW program worked exceptionally well for me, so I recommend it.

I lost 5lb in the first week!

I lost well over 3st and went down to 11st. Took about 7 months. Waist down from *cough* 44 inches to 34 inches. I did incorporate some exercise - using a bike and training for the London to Brighton helped as well.

Luckily I quite like the taste of nil point soup (especially if you chuck some dried red chillies on top).

Alas, I have put back on 1st. or so. So I will get back on to the program next week - travelling on business at present so hard to do.

The best thing was getting my wedding ring shrunk in size 'cos it was too loose. It still fits at the reduced size which is good.

Oh and the WW leader was very fit

vixpy, get down there now. Alot of the girls will have weird body omage.. thinking they are fat when in fact are not and have low self confidence.

you should be able to bang most of them before they catch on to your game.

I did Slimming World for a while a few years ago, and it is much the same idea. Lost about a stone in 4 months which wasn't too terrible, especially since I was able to continue to enjoy alcohol albeit in much reduced quantities (which was probably a bonus to be honest).

So what is the gimmick with WW then? I can see how a support group of people doing the same thing must be good but points=calories more or less surely?
