It is my girlfriends 21st birthday at the end of the month, and for a number of reasons I would like to do something really special for her. Looked in to hot air ballooning but can't find anything near to where we'll be (North East)on the day. Thought about taking her away for a couple of days, but i have a exam the day after, and she flies to france the day after that (long story).

So any ideas? other than the obvious meal etc, budget about £100 pp but could stretch to a bit more if it really is special.

Thanks in advance for the help,

tomtom

Trackday at Croft?

Or if she is not so petrolminded there is a (supposedly haunted) castle which you can rent a room in for about £100 a night complete with four poster. Give me a shout if you need the details and I'll have a word with my brother who went there. This was County Durham way.

There's a skidpan near York.

If there's even the slightest drop of petrol in her veins, she'll love it.

Then do the traditional nice dinner/flowers/fine wine/Belgian chocolates/Swiss Toni routine.

Unfortunately she doesn't share my love of cars, don't think i'd get away with doing anything along that line as she'd just think i was doing it for myself! just my luck!

Nice hotel sounds good, but was hoping for some more orignal ideas, something that'll make her think i've spent lots of time thinking

Maybe I could hire a nice car to take her to said hotel .....

Cheers for the replies guys, appreciated

Forget hot air ballooning for her birthday.

My dad and sister did one, it got cancellied about 8 times due to the weather not being quite right. Chances are if you booked it for that day it would get cancelled anyway which wouldn't be a great present.

How about cooking her a lovely meal, buying her favourite wine and sitting down, cuddling, on the sofa to watch her favourite film. Maybe you could give her a foot massage. Then, take her to bed and fall asleep cuddling. Then, wake her up abruptly but smacking your willy around her face saying "dicky want sucking".

You should be able to get her the iron and the ironing board for £100. Lucky bitch.
