100 years from now at the age of 132 I will ( assuming I am still alive ) be driving one of those battery powered spakcy wagons like that scientist chap and will probably be dribbling, wetting myself and rambling on about the great war of 2025.

Unfortunately I very much doubt if people will have personal transport in 100 years time, unless you are part of the ruling class.

The masses will be crammed onto various forms of public transport and their surgically-implanted ID device scanned 100's of times a day.

When I'm 122? Probably one of those Minority Report-style hyper-lift things. That's what The Man will make us drive.

And doubtless they'll be run off fume-belching factories miles away out of sight too

I can`t see civilisation lasting 100years.Look how many wars there have been in the past 100. Once natural resources dry up it will be the same old story.. sorry to be so negative but the western world is like butlands with death and starvation just outside the gates. Petrol prices have doubled the last 20 years, soon say 20-40 years fossil fuels will be extinct. The radio was saying just recently how, after a while, food clothes etc will just not be fincially viable to transport to your local supermarket.
If we make it, I would bag myself an atomic powered personal combat fighter..which converts transformer style into a supercar...

In a hundred years time we'll be spending most of our time in "virtual reality" and so there will be less need to travel physically.

Therefore, there will be less need for personal transport resulting in no investment in 'exotic' forms such as personal aircraft, etc.

Sounds boring but as virtual reality will be indistinguishable from 'real' reality, the options for fun will be unlimited.

Also, within the next 50 years it is likely that brain uploading to a non-corporeal form will be possible. For example, If you were to download yourself to a vehicle's computer you could actually 'become' the vehicle, complete with all senses.

Resistance is futile.
