Gay Police Horse
Discussion
Heard about this on the radio yesterday.

Thames Valley police attempted to prosecute a man who told a policeman that his horse was gay. Apparently that remark was deemed homophobic and potentially offensive to passers-by, so he was lifted and spent a night in the cells.

I don't understand this.
Calling something "gay" doesn't necessarily mean "homosexual", also has a secondary meaning of "stupid/rubbosh". (We all used to use it in the playground didn't we!
)
So they're taking the wrong meaning of the word.
Frinstance, if you were talking about a friend was really lively and jokey, and said "Oh, he's gay", would the police prosecute for that?
Ridiculous, and a waste of taxpayers' money.

), if I were to say...perhaps, "My friend Bob is gay", then I would be being homophobic would I?
